Long Training Run

Long Training Run

Did a longer training run today to see how things would go. Felt good most of the way, no walking on the hills and kept up a good pace for most of the flats and downs. Had three drop bags for water and fuel: one at the end of Creekside, one at the turn onto Kings Creek, and one at the top of Leland near Zoom. Seemed to work out well. Add two miles to what the map says due to mapping errors. Overall, not a bad ~23 miles run at 9,000+. Did it in 4:02 today.

  1. Nice run - we were thinking of heading up next weekend - looks like things must be drying out nicely in the Fraser valley?

  2. Yes, things are all dry in the valley. They are doing some tree cutting due to all the blow downs from this past winter, so some of the trails are "closed" but they don't work on the weekends. ;) Lower Cherokee had some down trees still last week, but D2, Sunken, Zoom, Chainsaw, Flume, Creekside, Northern Passage, Ice Hill, Blue Sky, Serenity, etc. are all dry and tree-free. A little snow on upper Elk still, but not bad. The secret trails have been cleared, and High Lonesome seems to be clear. Haven't done Strawberry yet, but it is dry (don't know about the trees though). PS: Found your blog from the post you did on your run here last year.
